Bringing a calf home

Reservations & pickup.

We keep calves with their dams until they are fully weaned and are happy to answer questions throughout the process.

Reservation

A 50% non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of selecting a calf, unless we have agreed to another arrangement. The remaining balance must be paid before the calf leaves the farm. Checks must clear first.

While your calf grows

We can schedule calls or FaceTime check-ins during weaning. We do not sell bottle babies; calves stay with their dams unless their safety requires otherwise.

Pickup or transport

You are responsible for arranging transportation directly with a transporter. We can help with local transport or recommend trusted transporters, including Almost Home Cattle Transport: Victor Ash at (417) 770-4675.

Getting ready

Cattle need another cow for companionship, shade and shelter, clean water, good hay or pasture, and minerals. Establish a relationship with a local veterinarian and have a safe chute or head gate before your calf arrives.

If a reserved calf becomes unavailable through no fault of yours, we can transfer the deposit to another available calf or return it. We are available for questions and enjoy hearing how our calves grow in their new homes.
